As mentioned previously, finished Prelam and Prelam II rolls can be converted to meet specific size requirements. Finished roll sizes of ~2.0 meters (~78.75") wide or less are most common. Because all Prelam and Prelam II rolls are packaged in suspension to prevent damage, roll lengths are limited. Since a roll's diameter must not exceed the edges of the supportive endplates used in packaging, lengths of finished rolls are restricted. In general, the maximum allowable roll length for bi-layer is 262m or 860ft; the maximum for tri-layer is 175m or 575ft. The following illustrates suspended packaging in more detail.
Finished rolls are interleaved with a PE sheeting so that they will not require refrigerated storage or delivery. All Prelam and Prelam II rolls must be handled and packaged in suspension to prevent damage. Once these steps are completed, the roll or rolls are ready to be boxed. Standard box dimensions are as follows:
